DeSu7 Twitter Review: Dev & Satadeep Saha jointly produced the Bengali film, “DeSu7,” is the 7th film between Dev and Subhashree Ganguly together, after 2025’s Dhumketu. The romantic thriller film hits theaters this Friday, on October 16, coinciding with the Durga Puja festival 2026.
It is also significant for superstar Dev‘s career, as it marks his 50th feature film as a lead role & directorial debut film. Just after experiencing this long-awaited film on silver screens, netizens shared their initial reactions on the reputed social media handle X (formerly Twitter), and it received positive word of mouth all across. Some fans call it “A Banger for Durga Puja 2026” and “power-packed performances by Anirban Bhattacharya.”
Alongside the lead duo, DeSu7 has supporting cast members Rajatava Dutta, Kanchan Mullick, Lokenath Dey, Parthasarathi Chakraborty, Priyanka Sarkar, Aparajita Auddy, and Pradeep Bhattacharya. Subhankar Bhar handled cinematography, edited by Md. Kalam, and the music is composed by Savvy & Nilayan Chatterjee.

Movie Review (DeSu 7)
You can bring the audience to the theatres by playing on the “Dev -Subhasree” emotion factor, but making them sit for 3 hours is the real challenge. We had the fear of getting another below‑standard film, as has been the case with several of Dev’s previous releases. Has that fear been overcome? To some extent, yes. I’ll talk about the positives, but let’s jump into the drawbacks first.
The film starts, and you immediately see it has been heavily inspired by a recent Hindi industry hit; not just a blockbuster! When almost every Indian has already watched that film, what was the need to make something so reminiscent of it? The second negative point would be the incorporation of songs, which do not blend seamlessly with the story. The only time it was truly difficult to sit through the runtime was when Nache Re Bangla started playing. Probably the cringiest song in Dev’s career! The actor seemed unbeatable throughout the film, he can kill hundreds of people, but nobody can beat him. Dev taking most of the punches and then hitting back would have been more effective to watch…

Just finished watching #DeSu7. Dev is superb in his directorial debut. The 2-hour-and-46-minute runtime never feels monotonous, thanks to the power-packed performances by Anirban Bhattacharya and the rest of the cast. Just like last Puja, Rathijit’s BGM knocks it out of the park.
