The dynamic duo Soori & Vijay Sethupathi fronted the crime thriller Viduthalai Part 1, following the box office success, which started streaming on ZEE5 in Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Telugu with English subtitles. The sequel of the film Viduthalai Part 2 was also released on December 20, 2024. Before it hit the big screens, on 19th December 2024, ZEE5 officially announced that the film’s first part would premiere freely from now onwards with a runtime of 152 minutes (2 hours and 32 minutes).
Viduthalai Part 1 movie plot
The plot of the film begins with a 1987 train derailment incident in rural Tamil Nadu, which was the cause of many people being severely injured or dead, which was investigated by the police, and they apprehend Perumal Vaathiyaar (Vijay Sethupathi), who is a leader of an extremist group. How a newly appointed police constable named Kumaresan (Soori) became involved in this case, despite being a driver, became a central point of the case; his internal struggle and many more turns and twists are unfolded through this movie.
