Haiwaan is a very powerful and compelling thriller. Yes, it is a remake of #Oppam, but the climax is different, and the film is even more engaging. The “remake” tag may perhaps work against the film, but if the audience watches it, I’m sure they will absolutely love it.
Priyadarshan has made a terrific film. #AkshayKumar has delivered a fantastic performance, but the real heart and soul of the film is Saif Ali Khan. In my opinion, this is one of the finest performances of his career….

#AkshayKumar transforms into a full-time #Haiwaan and surprises with his psychologically challenging character that has dark shades with mental elements attached to it. The opening scene and the climax scene is where he steals the show and makes you believe in the evil that he portrayed on the screen.
The film has a classy framework – a top-class cinematography – that deserves all the praise along witha superb background score.
The storyline has a #CapeFear touch and there is a lot of emotional boosting for #SaifAliKhan‘s character, who has done a decent work. The screenplay picks up a solid pace in the second half during those cat-and-mouse chase sequences. The ending feels fulfilling and there is a surprise cameo in the end and it’s a pleasant one!…

#Haiwaan is a dark and unpredictable thriller that sets the mood right from the beginning. Priyadarshan brings a serious atmosphere, whilestands out with a restrained and unsettling performance. Saif Ali Khan adds a strong emotional layer, and the contrast between both actors works really well. The eerie background score further strengthens the tension. A bold and different thriller that works well on the big screen.

HAIWAAN is a disappointing affair. It has a strong premise and some good performances, but the execution lets it down badly. The screenplay is shoddy and unnecessarily long and the climax fails to deliver the impact you expect from a thriller.
The bigger problem is that the story itself doesn’t hold the same attraction today. What may have worked as an engaging thriller 10 years ago feels dated now, especially when presented without enough freshness or reinvention…

#HAIWAAN is UNDERWHELMING.
It’s the kind of film that has everything to succeed BUT fails miserably due to weak writing and super-stretched scenes. Also suffers hugely from cringe, recycled humour. Film becomes UNBEARABLE after a point. #HaiwaanReview #SaifAliKhan performs well, #AkshayKumar’s character does not feel menacing enough to leave a lasting impact.
Film has a few merits but everything gets cancelled out because of overstuffed material and a FLAT, IMPACTLESS climax that seems to be never ending. Remember, a thriller can fight everything against it BUT when the climax is WEAK, nothing can save it and here the weak moments are there throughout the film.
#Haiwaan INTERVAL: Just around average as of now. Thought that they should have explored the character of #AkshayKumar a bit more. Screenplay looks below par, with unnecessary build-up.
