Son of Sardaar 2 box office collection day 6: Ajay Devgn returns to the big screen with Son of Sardaar 2, a standalone sequel to 2012’s critically and commercially acclaimed Son of Sardaar, also featuring Mrunal Thakur, Ravi Kishan, Sanjay Mishra, and others. After a decent opening weekend run, it failed to hold well in the weekdays, resulting in the day 6 score dropping significantly, under Rs 2 Cr, with an estimated Rs 32+ Cr net by the end of Week 1 in India, which will be a mark around a 62% drop compared to the original 2012 film’s opening week collection of Rs 83.25 Cr.

Vijay Kumar Arora‘s directorial Son of Sardaar 2 did quite well, racking up Rs 24.75 Cr net over the opening weekend. However, the film witnessed a noticeable dip during the weekdays, which scored Rs 28.50 Cr net over the last 5 days (as per the Bollywood Hungama report). Followed by day 6 (1st Wednesday), it minted Rs 1.5 Cr net and pushed the total domestic score to Rs 30 Cr.

The film was initially powered by big star powers, but the key reason behind the struggle to maintain momentum is the mixed word of mouth and stiff competition against Saiyaara, Mahavatar Narsimha and others. Until 14th August, the film will maintain a quite similar hold at the box office, but after the Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR & Kiara Advani starrer WAR 2 arrives on the silver screens, it will run in limited shows.
