Akhil Akkineni’s Agent locked for OTT debut: Mammootty and Akhil Akkineni led the Telugu spy action thriller “Agent,” helmed by Surender Reddy, which was released on the silver screens on 28 April 2023, under the banner of AK Entertainments and Surender 2 Cinema. Vakkantham Vamsi penned the plot, scripted by Surender Reddy, including the dynamic leads Dino Morea, Sakshi Vaidya, and Vikramjeet Virk, who portrayed crucial roles in the film. It received mixed theatrical reception from the moviegoers. After around 2 years, it is locked to premiere on SonyLiv from Holi 2025.

The plot of the film follows Ramakrishna “Ricky,” alias Wild Saala, an aspiring youngster who attempted various times to become a RAW agent. How will he become a spy, go on a mission, and uncover the truth about a dangerous terrorist organisation?
After around 2 years of waiting, finally yesterday (5th March), SonyLiv officially took to the Twitter handle and shared that the Telugu spy actioner is set to premiere on the small screens on 14th March (Holi), 2025, including Telugu, Kannada, Tamil, and Malayalam versions. The post also captioned: “Spy mode on! The mission is LIVE! Adrenaline-pumping action meets next-level style. Watch the most stylish spy-action entertainer, Agent, streaming from 14 March only on Sony LIV.“
