Bhool Chuk Maaf Hindi Movie Review: The versatile Rajkummmar Rao arrived for the first time in 2025 with Wamiqa Gabbi for the much-awaited Hindi sci-fi rom-com film “Bhool Chuk Maaf”, directed and written by Karan Sharma and backed by Dinesh Vijan. The engaging, feel-good entertainer offers a perfect blend of humour, emotions, and life lessons, but the central sci-fi element of the film, the time loop, is poorly executed.

Bhool Chuk Maaf Plot Summary
The entertainer set in Varanasi, the story revolves around Ranjan (Rajkummar Rao), a 25-year-old man who is deeply in love with Titli Mishra (Wamiqa Gabbi) and eager to marry her, but Titli’s father imposes a condition for marriage – he must secure a government job within two months for the wedding to happen.
This condition leads desperate Ranjan seeks help from a conman, Bhagwan (Sanjay Mishra); makes heartfelt promises to God at a temple, offering good deeds in exchange for the government job. Miraculously, he succeeded in cracking a government job within 2 months and is all set to marry Titli.
But the final twist arrived in his life on the pre-wedding day; he is trapped in a time loop, repeatedly resetting the day to the Haldi ceremony. What is the reason he is trapped in this time loop? How will he come out of this trap of a time loop?

Bhool Chuk Maaf fantastically brings the simple small-town charm, which makes the viewers engage with grounded story. The dialogues of the film are complement-worthy, which offer a perfect blend of wit and wisdom. Rajkummar Rao & Wamiqa Gabbi’s comedic chemistry, and especially Ranjan trapped in the pre-wedding day, evokes genuine laughs. Including the remarkable work by both the leads, Raghubir Yadav and Seema Pahwa’s characters as Ranjan’s parents steal the show, and other supporting characters are portrayed well.
The entertainer aims to deliver a good message, but Karan Sharma’s execution falls short, especially the key concept; the time loop is poorly executed. Another key Minas point, songs, for a rom-com, songs matter, but in this case, too many songs are injected, and most of the songs are remixes, which shows a lack of originality. The first half looks stretchy and takes too long to establish the story. The key pillar of the film is comic sequences; unfortunately, not all jokes are landed properly; some are forcefully injected.

Overall, Bhool Chuk Maaf is a charming small-town, light-hearted romantic comedy that tries to make a unique blend of science fiction with emotional drama, but the verdict comes out over-promising and under-delivering on the sci-fi front. For its wholesome entertainment elements, meaningful moments, and feel-good vibe can be watched one time, or you can wait for the OTT release.
