Catch spine-chilling Tamil horror thriller Murmur: The debutant Hemnath Narayanan’s written and directed Tamil horror thriller film “Murmur” was released on the silver screens on 7th March 2025, under the banners of Spk Pictures Private Limited and Stand Alone Pictures International. It’s marked as the first-ever found-footage Kollywood film. Stars who collaborated with the film are Richie Kapoor, Devaraj Arumugam, Yuvika Rajendran, Suganya Shanmugam and others. Following the critical and commercial acclaim, it started streaming yesterday (4th April), midnight onwards, on Prime Video and Tentkotta (Tamil regional OTT platform).

The gripping narrative revolves around 4 Chennai’s YouTubers, Melvin (Devraj Arumugam), Rishi (Richie Kapoor), Ankitha (Suganya Shanmugam), and Jenifer (Aria Selvaraj); all of them take an adventurous decision to make a documentary about supernatural legends, Saptha Kannigal (Seven Virgins), and another vengeful ghost, namely Mangai, in a remote forest with their local guide Kaantha (Yuvikha Rajendran). The adventurous journey takes a horrifying turn. What happens with them? You can’t even trust your eyes standing in modern times.
The 18+ masterpiece horror thriller is now streaming on Amazon Prime Video and Tentkotta, with a runtime of 134 minutes (2 hours and 13 minutes) only in the Tamil version. Based on the demand, it could be dubbed in Hindi in the future. Notably, it received a noteworthy 7.5 rating on the reputed news portal IMDb, based on 2.5K individual reviews.
