DD Next Level Tamil Movie Review: The fourth installment in the Dhilluku Dhuddu film series, following 2023’s critically acclaimed film DD Returns, “Devil’s Double Next Level“, a.k.a. “DD Next Level“, started entertaining the moviegoers from 16th May 2025, under the banners of The Show People & Niharika Entertainment. S. Prem Anand helmed and penned the film, financed by Venkat Boyanapalli and Arya. It falls flat due to poor execution, weak writing and screenplay.

DD Next Level Plot Analysis
The plot of the Tamil horror comedy follows a film critic, Krishnamoorty a.k.a. Kissa (played by Santhanam), well known for his rap-style reviews on movies. On the other hand, Hitchcock (played by Selvaraghavan), a film fanatic when he was alive, later turns into a psycho killer, only focused on killing the film critics. Kissa is invited to Hitchcock’s mysterious special screening. During attending the screening, he is pulled into the movie screens by a strange force and trapped as a reel-life character. How will he come out of this trap and save his family members, who have also come to attend the screening?

The concept of the film-related YouTube reviewers is extremely novel, which has huge potential, but unfortunately, director and writer S. Prem Anand seems unable to effectively balance the horror-comedy tone. Even with a capable cast led by Santhanam, the film struggles to land consistent laughs or thrills. The lead of the film, Santhanam, was always applauded for his fantastic comedic timing; this time he also tried hard to create the funny premise of the movie. The other crucial feature of the film Geethika Tiwary, Selvaraghavan, & Gautham Vasudev Menon offers hardly funny moments.

Overall, Santhanam’s horror comedy fails to hold the Dhilluku Dhuddu franchise value, despite receiving a promising setup and a talented team. If you are watching all the movies in the franchise and want to continue to be updated, you can watch it once or wait for the OTT release.
