Prabhas’s epic sci-fi film “Kalki 2898 AD” grossed over Rs 55 Cr gross advance booking nationwide, despite non-holiday. As a result, the film excelled at all the box office milestones of Indian cinema in 2024 and opened with an earth-shattering Rs 103–105 Cr net. Prior, the top opener film was Mahesh Babu, and Sreleela fronted the Telugu mass action drama “Guntur Kaaram,” which opened with Rs 41.3 crore net across the country and was released on the occasion of Sankranti/Pongal 2024. Kalki 2898 AD was not only released non-holiday but also competed in the India vs. England World Cup Semi-Final game.

The film recreated the history of opening with a massive Rs 100 Cr net number; earlier, the milestone was conquered by Baahubali 2, RRR, and KGF Chapter 2, now Kalki 2898 AD, becoming the fourth film in the history of Indian film.
