Kanguva movie plot analysis
In the epic fantasy actioner Kanguva, headlined by Suriya, opens with Francis Theodore, an enigmatic bounty hunter running from a Goa-based bounty hunter. On one of his bounty hunts, he starts looking for a child to remind him of his former life. In the previous yuga, the plot follows Kanguva (Suriya), a tribal warrior prince whose village is under the gaze of Romans. Against such a background was yet another clan who was also on the Kanguva side. It connects Kanguva and Francis Theodore, from centuries apart, to what he is to the future of us.
Kanguva movie review: Unbearable
The biggest asset of the film is the one and only, versatile Suriya, who tries hard to portray the dual characters as authentically as he can. But out of both characters, the tribal one looks stronger. Vetri Palanisamy’s cinematography offers us some spectacular visuals and delivers an impressive periodic experience.
The late Nishadh Yusuf‘s editing and Devi Sri Prasad‘s music attempted slightly to save the film. On the other hand, Siva’s attempt at direction is visible, but the key lack point is the plot writing; the plot is predictable, but emotion and drama fail to impact the audience. Bobby Deol’s presence with the impactful other star cast performs decently; the special appearance tried to save the film, but unfortunately it seems too late.
Baap of Movies Verdict on Kanguva
This is the weakest movie of the talented Suriya’s filmography. Despite the immense buzz and sky-high expectations, the Suriya-fronted epic fantasy actioner disappoints the audience. This is not worth watching in cinemas.
