Kiss Movie Plot
Kiss takes us to the story of Nelson (Kavin), who is a man scarred by the separation of his divorced parents. This experience breaks him apart, and he is very sceptical of their love and romance. His life changes as soon as he comes into contact with a mysterious book, which gives him the supernatural ability to see the couples’ destinies every time they kiss.
Through his visions, he saw only heartbreak and separations, and this led him to question the very idea of companionship. Things take a complete turn when Sarah (Preethi Asrani) enters his life. Nelson continues his hunt to understand the origin of the book and his growing attraction toward Sarah from the film’s emotional and fantasy-driven core.

Kiss Movie Characters Performance
Kavin carried the entire film on his shoulder thanks to his amazing performance as the bitter and curious Nelson. His disbelief towards the romance feels believable, but the script isn’t that good, as it fails to flesh out the deeper reasons behind his bitterness. Preethi Asrani brings charm as Sarah. However, her character looks like a mess because she lacks depth, and this left their romantic connection somewhat underwhelming.
Thanks to the support from actors like RJ Vijay & VTV Ganesh and cameo appearances by Devayani and Kausalya, we see a perfect comic relief and emotional balance. However, the characters’ motivations are messy, as it often feels half-baked, and this pulls down the overall impact of the story.

Writing and Direction

The writers were awful. The core of the kiss was amazing, but at times it feels very predictable, and the execution is poor, too. The screenplay looks disturbed as it keeps juggling between romance, fantasy, and comedy, and this makes the narrative feel scattered.
There is an animated prologue about a king’s curse and the recurring “ring of fire” motif that adds to the intrigue, but again it lacks proper payoff. The emotional beats surrounding Nelson’s family history should have been explored more deeply and powerfully.

Kiss’ Technical Aspects
Kiss has neon-lit cinematography, which is perfectly executed, and it enhances the fantasy tone. The music and dance sequences add vibrancy. But, at times, it feels very forced because they don’t always integrate smoothly.
The comedy is perfect in some parts, such as the pop-culture references, but the cross-dressing gag feels boring, outdated, and unnecessary. Overall, the technical aspects show promise, but it fails at times. With that being said, the film needed sharper storytelling to match its style.

Baap of Movies Verdict
All in all, in this Kiss movie review, we have seen that though the film stands out for its quirky premise and Kavin’s engaging performance, its script is a big let-down. The movie lacks emotional depth, and the poor setup has made this a very horrific torture. Kiss is watchable for its visuals and light-hearted moments; however, it will leave viewers wishing for a more cohesive narrative.
Watch it if you are into fantasy storylines, but don’t expect anything extraordinary. Also, if you are ready to ignore the poor scripting, then Kiss is the perfect movie for you.
