Maidaan 1st Weekend Global Box Office Collection: Zee Studios, Bayview Projects, and Fresh Lime Films jointly produced a highly anticipated biography port drama based on the legendary football coach Syed Abdul Rahim, AKA Alias Rahim Saab, who brought India gold medals in the 1951 Asian Games and 1962 Asian Games. Also, under his guidance, the Indian team became the first Asian team to qualify for the semi-finals of the 1956 Summer Olympics; after that, India never qualified in the Olympics for football.
The Amit Sharma-directed film racked up ₹ 15.70 Cr net in the domestic market, followed by another 15.40% spike on opening Sunday, minted the top domestic net collection number since release ₹ 6.52 Cr, and introduced the total India net to ₹ 22.22 Cr. With the 4-day extended weekend impressive collection, the Ajay Devgn-fronted film encounter the 7th top opening weekend Hndi net collection of 2024, just behind Yami Gautam-fronted political action thriller Article 370 (₹ 25.45 Cr). Film critic and business analyst Taran Adarsh praised the collection on his Twitter handle and wrote:
Despite glowing word of mouth and an *extended* 4-day [+ Wed previews] weekend, #Maidaan collects a low total… Urban centres perform better, but biz should’ve multiplied / jumped on Fri [second day of #Eid] and of course, Sat – Sun. Ajay Devgn, Priyamani, and Gajraj Rao fronted a sports drama film that grossed ₹ 23.10 Cr (Indian Gross: ₹ 18.69 Cr; Overseas Gross: ₹ 3.00 Cr). at the worldwide box office in the last 3 days, followed by on day 4, the Indian market contributed ₹ 7.76 Cr, and the overseas market contributed ₹ 1 Cr gross, bringing the total 4 days extended weekend gross to ₹ 30.45 Cr (India Gross: ₹ 26.45; Overseas Gross: ₹ 4.00 Cr).

The Hindi biography sports drama was released in theaters on April 11th, on the auspicious occasion of Eid, under the direction of Amit Sharma. Dialogues are penned by Rite Shah and Siddhant Mago, and stories are penned by Saiwyn Quadras, Akash Chawla, and Arunava Joy Sengupta. Features that are ensemble with the film include the principal actor Ajay Devgn, Priyamani, Gajraj Rao, Devyansh Tripathi, Nitanshi Goel, Aayesha Vindhara, Meenal Patel, Rudranil Ghosh, and others.
