Nayyi Navelli X Review: Yami Gautam returns to the silver screens for the first time in 2026 with the horror comedy “Nayyi Navelli” previously, she made a cameo appearance in “Dhrandhar 2”. The film is officially released in theatres today, on October 16, 2026, under the banners of Amazon MGM Studios & Colour Yellow Productions.
Just after experiencing the Balaji Mohan directorial on the FDFS (First Day First Show), netizens continue to drop their first reaction on the reputed social media handle X (formerly Twitter). Moviegoers are praising the blend of comedy, mythology and mystery, and Yami Gautam‘s powerful performance.
Alongside Yami, the film also has an ensemble starring Adinath Kothare, Mita Vashisht, Sonal Jha, Sunita Rajwar, and others. Aanand L. Rai & Himanshu Sharma jointly backed the film, while cinematography is handled by Rishi Punjabi and edited by Sumeet Kotian.

Nayyi Navelli X Review
A Rare Combination Of Mythology And Family Comedy With Loads Of Action And Entertainment
Rating: 3.5/5
THINK BIG, is what they said in the teaser, and well; the film actually does go BIG. Trust me, it’s way beyond what even the trailer had suggested that had Yami Gautam (as the friendly daayan) take on Raavan no less. Well, watch the movie, you would realise that even that was the tip of the iceberg as the story turns out to be way too layered as you get to know the origin of Raavan in today’s times, the backstories, the connection with the family, and very importantly, the backstory of Yami’s daayan character. It will all blow you away….
#NayyiNavelli REVIEW | YAMI GAUTAM SHOW ALL THE WAY.
Rating – 3.5/5
A wickedly entertaining blend of comedy, mythology and mystery ! #YamiGautam carries the entire film on her shoulders. She is equally good at comedy and intense scenes, making you laugh one moment and leaving you amazed the next. What a fantastic performance while the fascinating #Raavan connection and the #Dussehra backdrop elevates the impact ….
#NayyiNavelliReview :- WHOLESOME ENTERTAINER.
Rating: 3.5/5
Yesterday I watched a Film in Media Screening expecting it to be a Decent Film but Goddamn, Aanand L Rai delivers a PROPER ENTERTAINER that breaks away from the usual formula and brings FOLKLORE and FAMILY MADNESS
Right from the start, it blends LORE with FICTION in such a perfect way that you will feel ENTERTAINED without any dull moments. The 1st half is pretty good as it sets up the base of the story and characters, with genuinely funny sequences that make you go ROFL. But it is the 2nd HALF where the film truly peaks, especially the CLIMAX.. WHAT AN ENDING..
#NayyiNavelliReview: DULL & DISAPPOINTING! BIG ambition, UNDERWHELMING execution!
#YamiGautam’s mythology-meets-family-comedy entertainer has an interesting premise, but an overcrowded screenplay, inconsistent storytelling & an overstretched climax dilute its impact. Yami impresses; #AnuragThakur adds humour, while Adinath Kothare is dependable. #GVPrakashKumar’s music & BGM are definite positives….
#NayyiNavelli is an entertaining one. Has the elements of a typical family entertainer. Works in most parts as it amalgamates lore and fiction.
Is there anything that #YamiGautam cannot pull off? Fabulous performance and what a commanding screen presence! While the comedy works, the horror elements are limited. Few jokes are too funny and the characters are fun to watch.
The background score is effective while the screenplay could’ve been crispier. The film has elements that go well with the current festive season and hence the Dussehra release makes sense. Some trimming of the surplus material could’ve been done…..
