Nora Fatehi files a defamation suit for Rs 200 crore against Jacqueline Fernandes, alleging that Fernandes made false statements with malicious intent. Both were questioned by the ED in a money laundering case involving Rs 200 crore. Jacqueline has been charged in the matter.

Nora Fatehi is a Canadian-Moroccan actress; she is also a dancer. She is now going viral because of the money laundering case of Sukesh Chandrashekhar. For that reason, she accused Jacqueline Fernandes of slander.

The action was taken in response to Jacqueline Fernandez’s complaint that “celebrities like Nora Fatehi, who had also accepted gifts from conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar, had been made witnesses” and that “she was being wrongly accused by the ED.” Specifically, Jacqueline Fernandez wants ED to take all people involved in this case, but Noreen Fatehi says that is incorrect, citing statements she made that were completely false.
On Monday, Nora Fatehi sued Jacqueline Fernandez and a number of media outlets for defamation after they used her name in the wrong context in the 200 crore extortion case involving con artist Sukesh Chandrashekhar.
And Nora Fatehi categorically denied any involvement in this situation. She also denied that she had taken any gifts from Sukhesh Chandrasekhar.
What is Defamation
As the meaning of the word suggests, is an injury to the reputation of a person resulting from a statement that is false. Defamation is defined in Section 499 of the Indian Penal Code 1860, and Section 500 provides that a person committing an offense under this section is liable to simple imprisonment for a term of 2 years, a fine, or both.
