Raakh Plot Breakdown
The plot of the Raakh Series is based on a real-life incident set in one of India’s most disturbing – the 1978 Geeta and Sanjay Chopra case involving Ranga and Billa. It revolves around the Mona Arora (Sonali Bendre) & Ashok Arora (Aamir Bashir) family, whose lives are shattered when their 14-year-old son and 16-year-old daughter become victims of a sudden abduction while they are travelling to the radio station for a programme.
To investigate this high-profile case, JP (Jayprakash Jatav) (Ali Fazal) is appointed to take charge of this case. As JP delves deeper, several similar kinds of cases start taking shape. How Ali Fazal will go deeper and catch the culprit will be intriguing to watch.
Positive Points
- Anusha Nandakumar & Sandeep Saket‘s adoption is worth praise.
- Prosit Roy, Anusha Nandakumar, and Sandeep Saket‘s direction in the initial 3 episodes looks a little slow, but from the 4th episode, the story takes solid growth and keeps the viewers engaged until the end.
- As expected, Ali Fazal‘s portrayal is the key highlight. How he dives deeper into the investigation and solves the case, despite being under pressure while handling the high-profile case, will be interesting to see. With strict instructions to crack the case within 48 hours at any cost, it raises the intensity on the pick.
- The crime and investigation sequences are well-crafted.
- Akash Makhija & Ramandeep Yadav‘s portrayal as the key antagonists was done impressively.
- Sonali Bendre and others’ star-studded performances are good.

Positive Points
- Raakh failed to build its suspense aspects, as from the first episode, viewers could predict who was the mastermind behind this series of crimes.
- The initial few episodes look stretched, which could have been shorter and made more fast-paced.
Verdict
Overall, Raakh succeeds in delivering a well-crafted, brutal crime show, backed by solid performances. But the initial slow-paced episodes could have been better. Ali Fazal, Ramandeep Yadav, and Akash Makhija are the key highlights of the shows, which perfectly bridge the real-life-inspired incident into a layered and immersive investigative drama.
