The Abandons Plot Overview
The Abandons takes us to Angel’s Ridge, Washington Territory, in 1854. At the start of the story, we are taken to classic Western fashion that is dusty streets, saloons, horses, and an undercurrent of manifest destiny. But the twist? The battle for power is driven not by cowboys, but by two formidable matriarchs.
Constance Van Ness (Gillian Anderson), who is played with icy precision by Gillian Anderson. Van is shown as the ruthless owner of the silver mine that keeps the town breathing. Fiona Nolan, who is portrayed by Lena Headey, is a devout Irish Catholic rancher. Fiona leads a makeshift family of orphans and outcasts in Jasper Hollow.
Things get interesting as Constance sets her sights on the silver-rich land in which the Hollow is located, and the Nolan clan begins experiencing “accidents” engineered to push them out.
