The 58-year-old Bollywood icon has been a box-office draw and global ambassador for Indian cinema.

Today, on July 2nd, an hour prior, the Locarno Film Festival official Twitter handle shared the news and captioned it: “To welcome a living legend like #ShahRukhKhan in Locarno is a dream come true.
The actor and film producer – a true Indian superstar, a symbol of the vitality of Hindi-language cinema – will receive our career achievement award, the Pardo alla Carriera, at #Locarno77.”
In the year 2023, the Malaysian filmmaker Tsai Ming-liang was awarded the honour.
The Festival Also to screen 2002’s Super-Hit Devdas
The film festival also screens SRK’s superhit periodic romantic drama “Devdas,” directed and co-written by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The actor will receive the honour festival’s Piazza Grande, on 10th August, followed by on 11th August the actor to attend the Public conversation event.
