‘The Odyssey’ Eyes Massive India Opening: The much-awaited epic fantasy action film, ‘The Odyssey,’ directed by Christopher Nolan, is turning out to be one of the most awaited Hollywood films in India for the coming year. The advance booking for the movie has turned out to be very promising, with the IMAX response being at an all-time high, and it is bound to get a blockbuster opening in India. The film is headed to hit the big screens in India & the USA on July 17, 2026.

Advance Bookings for The Odyssey Generates Much Excitement
The build-up to ‘The Odyssey’ had been going on for weeks, but after the director, Christopher Nolan, along with stars Tom Holland and Matt Damon, visited Mumbai to promote the film, there was tremendous interest among the audience for the movie.
As per the latest information, advance bookings for the movie have crossed 126,000+ tickets on the opening day itself. Out of this number, 52,000+ tickets have been from PVR Inox, while Cinepolis has booked another 12,000 tickets for the film.

IMAX Demand Reaches New Heights
One of the greatest achievements of the movie is the amazing box office numbers recorded through the IMAX platform. Reports have it that The Odyssey has recorded the sale of 92,000+ tickets for its opening weekend via IMAX screens in India. This has brought a gross total of nearly Rs 9.55 crores.
Nothing comes as a surprise considering that The Odyssey has been filmed using only IMAX cameras. Christopher Nolan’s movies have always provided some of the best visuals in cinema, and this has also attracted many people.
Opening Day Box Office Collection Could Surpass Rs. 20 Crore
According to trade experts, The Odyssey is likely to record box office collections ranging from Rs. 17 crore to Rs. 18 crore on the day of its release. In case there is a further increase in advance booking just prior to its release, it can easily surpass the Rs. 20 crore mark.
It would be worthwhile to note that Nolan’s recent blockbuster Oppenheimer had recorded an opening day gross of Rs. 14.45 crore following the sale of close to 2 lakh tickets in advance.

Wide Release Across India
The film is scheduled to be released extensively in more than 2,500 theaters in India, compared to the 1,923-screen release of Oppenheimer. The extensive screening, coupled with the hype preceding the film, gives the distributors the assurance that the film will have a great run.
