Plot Overview
The Pyramid Scheme, season 1, exposes the dark side of India’s multi-level marketing (MLM) scams and follows an ambitious but impatient young man, Goldy (Paramvir Cheema), who runs a small mobile shop and is in huge debt. His shop was robbed by local thugs several times.
Through a motivational video, Goldy watches business guru Tarun Bajaj (Shekhar Suman), whose hooked dialogue “Doston, garib hona paap hai” triggered him to dream of easy money and trapped Bajaj’s MLM scam JumboLife.
The excitement around the show goes up after Ranvir Shorey’s portrayal of Manoj Srivastava becomes a partner with Goldy. Manoj Srivastava is a suspended school music teacher. He has been suspended due to making reels on the school premises.
Following their business taking a boom, as their partnership became stronger, they started manipulating easily the desperate middle-class people through their same code words, with a strong touch of comedy. But as the JumboLife scam is coming to an end, the show turns into a crime thriller. Goldy and his partner are starting to face the dark side of the scam. The series reveals how money problems can push the middle-class people to dark financial scam.

- Akshendra Mishra‘s story starts with a humour-packed note, but the middle portion of the show looks a little repetitive. But the ending twist surely holds the viewers till the end with its serious note.
- The lead duo, Paramvir Cheema & Ranvir Shorey, jointly delivers an impressive job in the series.
- The supporting cast, Aanjjan Srivastav, Shekhar Suman, Akhilendra Mishra, and the strict grandfather role, are remarkable.
Negative Aspects
- The middle portion of the show is repetitive, which could have been better.
