The Wrong Paris Plot
The Wrong Paris takes us to Dawn (Miranda Cosgrove), who is a small-town girl and has a big dream of attending art school in Paris. However, as she covers her grandmother’s medical bills, she can’t afford the steep tuition. Her sister Emily (Emilija Baranac), who is a reality TV superfan, convinced Dawn to join The Honeypot (The Honeypot is a Bachelor-like dating show that is set in Paris). The plan is simple: grab the $20,000 appearance fee and leave.
But in true romcom fashion, there’s a twist. Because, instead of Paris, France, the filming takes place in Paris, Texas. Dawn soon finds herself attached to Trey McAllen III (Pierson Fodé), who is a cowboy and has his own charm and an endless supply of tight jeans.

Bachelor Nation Meets Hallmark
At times, it feels like The Wrong Paris borrows heavily from two pop-culture staples: The Bachelor and Hallmark movies. The contestants fall into the same archetypes as the princess, the fitness buff, the influencer, and the hopeless romantic. These stereotypes at times offer some satirical humor, but unfortunately, they never fully land. At the end, it feels like the film is just a watered-down parody without the wit or emotional spark.
Even with the central romance struggles, Cosgrove’s comedic timing was on, but her chemistry with Fodé is almost nonexistent. Their banter looks very made-up, as it lacked that natural energy that is needed to build the “romantic tension”.

Production Issues Undermine the Story
The Wrong Paris review must highlight how poorly the film’s technical execution was; almost every scene looks forced. The shoddy editing makes the dialogue unbearable, and poor camera angles often distort scenes into near-fisheye views. The production feels rushed and unfinished. This hurriness was clearly visible, as this quick romcom content ended up sacrificing quality for quantity.
Themes That Miss the Mark
The Wrong Paris had almost no underlying message, and that’s why it gets more disappointing. At the start, we see Dawn begin as an independent young woman determined to pursue her dreams. But by the end, she’s willing to abandon her ambitions for a man. Why? Where is the logic? What about her dream? Yes, romcoms thrive on fantasy, but forgetting the core concept of the movie gives The Wrong Paris a very regressive ending.
Cosgrove’s character arc is disappointing. If the Wrong Paris had offered the women’s empowerment message, then it would have been a treat.
Baap of Movies Final Verdict – Should You Watch It?
Lastly, The Wrong Paris review is very negative because the movie failed miserably to blend the romance, satire, and light-hearted comedy, as it fails to capture the magic of any. Viewers who are looking for a fun Netflix rom-com may want to keep searching, but the show doesn’t have anything new to stick with. Those who love the romantic genre can stick with the movie; otherwise, this is one best to skip.
The execution is so poor that it will make you feel like, why is everything so messed up? A predictable storyline and confusing character arc will keep you scratching your head.
