Tourist Family and Thudarum OTT Release Delayed: M. Sasikumar, Simran, Mithun Jai Sankar & Kamalesh’s Tamil comedy-drama “Tourist Family” was released on 1st May, 2025; on the other hand, Mohanlal & Shobana’s Malayalam crime thriller “Thudarum” debuted in theatres a week ahead, on 25 April 2025. Both the films have been enjoying the tremendous box office run, surpassing all the expectations with their box office numbers. Now the questions are arising about the digital release date, which looks like the makers are delaying the OTT release for a wider theatrical run.

Tourist Family and Thudarum OTT Release Date Update
According to the industry tracker Sreedhar Pillai’s report, Tourist Family was scheduled to premiere on OTT on May 28, and Thudarum was locked to stream from 21st May on JioHotstar, but “producers of both the films had approached JioHotstar and had requested an extension as the films were doing blockbuster business in theatres.” The report also added that both films would be released on digital platforms only in the first week of June. Till then, both films can enjoy a box office run to secure a remarkable number.

Abishan Jeevinth directed and wrote the Tamil comedy-drama was released on 1st May under the banners Million Dollar Studios & MRP Entertainment. Nazerath Pasilian, Magesh Raj Pasilian & Yuvaraj Ganesan financed the film, including leads, Yogi Babu, M. S. Bhaskar, and Ramesh Thilak also portrayed crucial roles.

The Malayalam crime thriller was helmed by Tharun Moorthy, with the story penned by K. R. Sunil and backed by M. Renjith, including Mohanlal & Shobana, Prakash Varma, Farhaan Faasil, Maniyanpilla Raju, Binu Pappu and others also teamed up with the film.
