Vicky Kaushal’s Bad Newz Plot Analysis
The comedy drama narrated the triangle relationship between the leading lady, Saloni Bagga (Triptii Dimri), Akhil Chadha (Vicky Kaushal), and Gurbir Pannu (Ammy Virk). Saloni is very strict related to her profession and is highly ambitious to achieve the ‘Meraki Star’ for her restaurant. Due to her ambition, she has never been in any kind of relationship, but her thoughts transform into attraction when she meets Akhil (Vicky Kaushal) at a common wedding. After reaching Akhil, Saloni decided to begin a trail relationship with him, but after they started talking, soon their decision of relationship was to marry each other.
Within a short time, both of them eventually realised they were not compatible and parted ways. Salini returns to her profession by joaning a 5-star hotel in Hill Station and boosting her ambition towards achieving ‘Meraki Star.’ She met with the owner of this hotel, Gurbir, and she realised that he was likeable and, side by side, also compatible with her. But the story takes a turn when Akhil fails to move on and comes to surprise Saloni on the occasion of their first marriage anniversary. Under the influence of alcohol, she also slept with Akhil that night.
After spending 6 weeks, Saloni became pregnant, and as we watch in the trailer, the doctor tells us both of them are fathers, which happened only once in a billion cases. Now the question arises: who should she choose as her children’s father among the men?
Bad Newz Movie Review: Average
Director Anand Tiwari’s effort fails to inject enough comic humour, as expected from the trailer. The first half begins with a well-thought-out note, but the silly and immature moments are enough to confound the audience, and the comic sequences look forcefully landed (despite the few sequences in the first half). The emotional moments tend to be funny. The few sequences of the film that look irrelevantly injected play the roadblock to progress.
The second half of the film looks quite logically related to the first half, especially the pregnancy moment and Vicky’s performance. Vicky Kaushal again proved his versatility, followed by Triptii Dimri. Ammy Virk’s characters are well portrayed, and the other star casts are well done, including the surprising cameo. Ishita Moitra and Tarun Dudeja’s story was fresh, but the treatment went wrong, which makes it a cringe-fest.
Baap of movies Review
Overall, this is a Vicky Kaushal, Triptii Dimri, and Ammy Virk-fronted decent entertainer, which raises huge expectations from the trailer, but the final output is underwhelming and fails to fulfil the audience expectations. It is a one-time-watching film, or you can wait for the OTT debut to experience it.
