Amole Gupte’s Unique Approach to Training
The young actors were mentored by Amole Gupte, who is best known for writing Taare Zameen Par. He has also directed children-focused films like Stanley Ka Dabba. However, Gupte prefers not to call it “training”.
Instead, the mentor believes in learning through fun. His sessions with Riaan and Rahyl were very thoughtful and interesting, as they were filled with playful interactions, storytelling, and casual dialogue practice rather than strict teaching methods. This natural approach worked very well, as it helped the kids feel comfortable in front of the camera.

Roles of Riaan and Rahyl in ‘Raja Shivaji’
In the film, both brothers are seen in the different phases of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s life. Rahyl will be playing the younger version, while Riaan has taken on the role of a slightly older Shivaji. Their performances have already caught audience attention.

Learning Through Fun, Not Pressure
Gupte also shared that the environment was never like a classroom. Instead, he was focused on finding the bonding time that is filled with laughter, samosas, and jalebi. This relaxed setting worked very well, as it allowed the children to pick up acting skills naturally. He even described them as “heere” (diamonds) and highlighted their sharp learning ability and confidence.
