Batwara 1947 Special Promo Release Date: Rajkumar Santoshi’s highly anticipated directorial period drama film “Batwara 1947” is gearing up for a grand theatrical debut on 13 August 2026 during the Independence Day holiday. The film marks the first-ever team-up between the father-son duo Sunny Deol and debutant Karan Deol.
The team is all set to drop its first asset in the form of a teaser. As reported by the reputed news portal Bollywood Hungama, it will be dropped on June 15. The portal also added that, following the teaser, the makers will drop a special promo in the same month, choosing a crucial Father’s Day.

The source close to the development told Bollywood Hungama, “Batwara stars Preity Zinta, Shabana Azmi and Ali Fazal, and it also features Sunny’s son, Karan Deol. This is the first time that the father and son will share screen space, and they have an interesting dynamic in the film. The makers wanted to present the same to the audience. Hence, a special promo is being designed to highlight their bond.”

The report also added, “Father’s Day will be celebrated on June 21. Hence, the team of Batwara 1947 felt that it would be an apt day to bring the father-son asset out. A final call will be taken in the coming week, but as of now, the Father’s Day asset plan is on.”

The Hindi period drama was earlier titled ‘Lahore 1947,’ but later the title was changed to ‘Batwara 1947,’ which is based on the drama ‘Jis Lahore Nai Vekhya, O Jamya E Nai‘ by the professor Asghar Wajahat. Aamir Khan is backing the film, and the stars teamed up with the venture alongside the father-son duo, Preity Zinta, Shabana Azmi, Ali Fazal & others.
