Chennai, September 15: It’s official! The national sensation Rashmika Mandanna is stepping into the role of Carnatic music legend Bharat Ratna M. S. Subbulakshmi for the epic biopic “MS—A Legacy On Screen.” The highly anticipated project will launch tomorrow, on September 16, timed with the 110th birth anniversary of the singer, and the event will be attended by ‘Ulaganayagan’ Kamal Haasan as the chief guest.
A Stellar Creative Team Behind the Musical Epic
The biographical drama will bring on screens the legacy of the legendary singer M. S. Subbulakshmi. Notably, she was the first ever singer who was awarded India’s highest civilian honor, Bharat Ratna, and the Ramon Magsaysay award (the Philippines’ award).
The fame of Jersey and Gandhi, Gowtam Tinnanuri, directs the film, with Allu Aravind, Bunny Vasu, and Rockline Venkatesh backing this project, and it will be released under the banner of Geetha Arts. The dynamic Anirudh Ravichander will compose the soundtrack and background score, marking a major departure into classical musical territory.

The film will officially be launched on Wednesday, September 16, at 6 PM in The Musical Academy Chennai.
