Gadar 2 teaser out: Gadar 2: The Katha Continues is the sequel to the 2001’s film Gadar ek prem katha, which stars Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel, and the legendary Amrish Puri, whom we can never see now because Amrish Puri left the world in 2006 due to cardiac arrest. This film was the most successful and blockbuster of 2001, and after 22 years, the makers are finally getting the sequel part as Gadar 2: The Katha Continues, all set to release on August 11, 2023.
Recap Gadar Ek Prem Katha
This is the story of 1947, when the communal riots started and the country was being divided. When Sakeena (Ameesha Patel) was about to be killed for being a Muslim, Tara Singh (Sunny Deol) smeared Sakeena’s forehead with their own blood. And Tara Singh had saved Sakeena from some patrons who were after her to kill her.
Then, after some time, both got married, and they both had a son called Jeete. Sakina apparently wanted to meet her family, who live in Pakistan. Then Tara Singh decided that all three would go to Pakistan and get Sakina reunited with her family. After this, everyone knows what happened further. And Tara Singh got back to India and left his wife and son, Charanjeet Singh, in Pakistan.
Gadar 2 Teaser Review
The teaser starts with a bus off to Pakistan, Lahore. And voiceover off female saying he is the son-in-law of Pakistan, give him a grand welcome, anoint him, and other wise this time he is going to take Lahore with him, and then the appearance of Sunny Deol aka Tara Singh, which literally gives goosebumps, rewinds the aggression of Gadar ek prem katha, in the middle it shows Sunny Deol holding a wooden wheel to throw on the enemy, and a few seconds before while ending the teaser, it starts “Ghar Aaja Pardesi” in Arijit Singh‘s voice the soothing for the years.
After 22 years, director and producer itself, Anil Sharma, recreated Gadar 2 and the story set in 1971, during the Indo-Pak Civil War, and Tara Singh went to Pakistan, Lahore. To bring his only son, “Charanjeet Singh,” (Utkarsh Sharma). The teaser’s duration of 1 min. 9 sec. got 2 million viewers in 2 hours on YouTube.
