The Kerala Story, based on the truth of events and helmed by Sudipto Sen, faces lots of controversy and even a ban in some regions of India. A low-budget film sets the benchmark once it seems like it will not run that much because of controversy, but it changes the whole segment. It got audience support, had great footfalls at theatres, grossed Rs. 300 crores, and became the 3rd highest grossing film of 2023.

Adah Sharma played the character of Shalini Unnikrishnan/ Fatima, Yogita Bihani aka Nimah; and Sonia Balani aka Asifa; who was the Culprit and tried to brainwash these two girls, which she succeeded in. Apart from this, at India’s nett collection, The Kerala Story has so far collected Around ₹ 241.24 Cr, and worldwide collection ₹ 301.30 Cr, which marks the third highest grossing Grossing Film, Bollywood had a film this year after Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone’s “Pathaan” and The Kerala Story, which became the 5th highest grossing Bollywood film post-the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Kerala Story open with Rs. 8 crores Collection
On its opening day, the film collected over Rs. 8 crores and a steady pick-up in the range. After 42 days, it grossed Rs. 301 crores, and now the film is nearly about to end in the theatres, but the left benchmark, which was a slap for some people who thought that the film was propaganda, creating hatred between two communists.
