The Bengal Files Trailer Review: The maker of immensely acclaimed films like The Tashkent Files (2019) and The Kashmir Files (2022), Vivek Agnihotri, returns with another real incident-based gripping drama thriller, “The Bengal Files“, which marked the third and final instalment in Agnihotri’s Files Trilogy, based on the 1946 Great Calcutta killings. The huge star-studded joint hands with the film include Mithun Chakraborty, Darshan Kumar, Sourav Das, Eklavya Sood, Anupam Kher, Puneet Issar, and others.
Ahead of the grand theatrical debut on 5th September 2025, the makers dropped the bold trailer on 16th August, which offers a hint of the truth of the Hindu genocide that was buried all these years.

The 3.32-minute-wide trailer unveiled the brutal truth of West Bengal due to the communal violence against Hindus in undivided Bengal during the 1940s, and events like the 1946 Direct Action Day and the Noakhali riots of 1946, which have remained hidden for decades, are shown in a bold way with the dialogue, “Yeh Pachim Bangal hai; yaha do constitution chalta hai, ek Hinduao ka, ek Musalmanon ka.”
The intense dialogues, powerful performances, and raw visuals in the trailer look promising, ensuring the film is going to leave audiences shaken in the theatres. Every single character unveiled is well crafted, which is undoubtedly going to deliver another The Kashmir Files-type of movie.

The Bengal Files Trailer Release Event Stopped
As per the early announcement, on 16th August Vivek Agnihotri and his team came to launch the trailer at an event in Kolkata, West Bengal, but unfortunately the Kolkata Police stopped Agnihotri from holding the launch event for the CBFC-proofed trailer. He called this political interference a “dictatorship”.

The gripping Hindi drama thriller was helmed and penned by Vivek Agnihotri and financed by Abhishek Agarwal & Pallavi Joshi, and cinematography was handed by Attar Singh Saini. The film is gearing up to release on 5th September, under the banners of Abhishek Agarwal Arts & I Am Buddha Productions.
