Homebound Story
Homebound takes us to the two friends who are Dalit & Muslim and are struggling with their dreams to be police trainees. Shoaib (Ishaan Khatter) and Chandan (Vishal Jethwa) are from the backward villages, and not everything for them is ready-made. They want to be a police trainee because it will not only give them money but it will also give them and their families much-deserved respect. But where are they able to get their dream? Well, that looks very difficult because of the casteist society, as they face constant casteist slurs.
Homebound touches on a very important issue in Indian society, which is casteism. It shows how difficult it is for the underprivileged students to beat the system and earn respect. The movie’s compelling story will open your eyes and will make you rethink your ideology and how we treat the less privileged individuals around us. Thanks to the strong message, Homebound is India’s official nomination for the Oscars 2026.
