Cast Performances
Yerin Ha was very good as she delivered her career-defining performance as Sophie Baek. She effortlessly presented the right balance of vulnerability and resilience. Ha commands attention in every scene. In the moments of quiet longing and emotional restraint, she has shown her range.
Luke Thompson was good too, as he has given a very mature and compelling portrayal of Benedict to date. Benedict feels grounded, thoughtful, and deeply romantic. However, there were few sequences in the show where Luke appeared lost.
Katie Leung’s Lady Araminta Gun is a standout antagonist. She was very calm, and controlled cruelty makes her endlessly watchable. On the other hand, Michelle Mao (Rosamund) and Isabella Wei (Posy) provide an effective contrast within the Penwood household.
