Dexter-Resurrection Episode 8 Recap
Episode 8 sees Dexter targeting Al (Eric Stonestreet), who is the last of Prater’s Predators, also known as Rapunzel. Dexter sets up a kill room inside a closed wig shop, and it is complete with mannequins draped in ponytails. This room serves as a grotesque but fitting stage for his prey. However, Al didn’t take the bait, as he skipped town and left Dexter fuming.
As Al is gone, Dexter turns his attention to Vinny (Steve Schirripa), who is a corrupt slumlord whose negligence has harmed tenants. Harry (James Remar) warned Dexter that Vinny doesn’t quite fit the Code, but Dexter went ahead with the plan. Dexter uses fear as a weapon and suffocates Vinny temporarily to force a promise of reform. On the other hand, Angel Batista (David Zayas) is tracking Dexter’s movements, and he wants to catch him.
Finally, Angel finds Dexter’s elaborate kill setup, but with no victim or evidence, his claims begin to look unhinged. The detective doubted Angel, and after Quinn confirmed Angel was no longer on active duty, it decreased his credibility. On the other hand, Dexter disposes of Angel’s tracking AirPods and erases the proof of his movements.
At the end, we see a heart-stopping twist: Prater (Peter Dinklage) confronts Dexter at lunch about Harrison’s existence. And, in a polite and menacing tone, he says, “You didn’t tell me you had a son.”

- Cliffhanger with Prater: The ending confrontation of Prater and Dexter about Harrison is a masterstroke. It raises personal stakes, and it also positions Prater as the most dangerous rival that Dexter has faced in years.
