The film kicked off the domestic box office journey with an impressive Rs 4.5 Cr+ net in India—surpassing the opening day figures of Mohanlal’s recent drama Hridayapoorvam (Rs 3.25 Cr).

Chakravarthy Ramachandra & S. Sashikanth jointly financed the latest Malayalam movie, Dies Irae, which made a solid debut at the Indian box office with a remarkable Rs 4.7 Cr net. The film’s performance has been largely fueled by positive word of mouth, propelling it to become the 4th top Malayalam opening movie in 2025 so far, just behind Mohanlal’s action thriller Thudarum (Rs 5.24 Cr).
The current box office trend indicates that on the weekend days (Saturday & Sunday), Dies Irae is all set to witness a significant jump and will register an excellent weekend total.
