Drishyam 3 Movie Review (2026): Mohanlal returns as Georgekutty in “Drishyam 3“, which serves as a sequel to Drishyam 2 (2021) and the third installment in the Drishyam film series. The film hit the theatres worldwide today, on May 21, 2026, under the banner of Aashirvad Cinemas. Apart from Mohanlal, Meena, Ansiba Hassan, Esther Anil, Murali Gopy, Siddique, and Asha Sarath are reprising their crucial roles. Despite creating immense pre-release buzz, it falls short of delivering the same magic for what the franchise is famous for, mainly due to an underwhelming climax.

Positive Points
- Mohanlal’s portrayal Georgekutty has done a remarkable job.
- The first half develops the story fantastically, keeping the key essence under wraps, which helps the viewers hooked for the post-interval part.
- Anil Johnson’s BGM is one of the essential elements of the film. Alongside other technical aspects like Satheesh Kurup’s cinematography and V. S. Vinayak’s editing, it also works quite well.
- Emotional family moments work effectively

Negative Points
- Instead of Mohanlal, other portrayals of Drishyam 3 revisit the familiar world, but this time the performances are considerably weaker than the past instalments.
- Through the suspense and thriller elements, the film failed to offer something new.
- The investigation pattern looks similar.
- The key lack of the film is Jeethu Joseph’s story, which disappoints the audiences, especially with the climax, for which the franchise was cheered.

Verdict
Overall, Drishyam 3 is the weakest instalment of the entire film series. The thriller loses the signature key essences, like tension-filled moments, edge-of-your-seat tension and climax twists. If you are a big Mohanlal fan or loyal follower of the franchise, you can experience Drishyam 3 once on the big screen; otherwise, waiting for its digital premiere could be a better option.
