Karuppu Storyline
Karuppu is all about a world where lawyers, who take advantage of their powerful positions in society, rob innocent and poor citizens of their peace. As corruption grows in the society, Karuppaswamy (played by Suriya), who is the deity of justice and power, descends on earth to fight against the injustice being committed by these evil forces.
A perfect blend of fantasy, emotion, and commercial elements, Karuppu also deals with a very important social issue. The trailer alone gave a hint of what this film would be all about, but when you watch the entire film, you get to enjoy some emotional and mass action.
Suriya Shines in ‘God Mode’
However, without doubt, the most outstanding aspect of Karuppu is its leading actor, Suriya. Critics have hailed the power he carries on-screen, the intensity with which he performs, and his fantastic transformation into Karuppasamy. Many fans have linked his performance to that of his renowned character in Singham.
From the introduction scene to the interval block and climax of the movie, Suriya proves to be an overwhelming force to reckon with, as he creates many moments that warrant whistles for the audience watching the movie in the theatres.
In addition, Trisha Krishnan gives a great performance, complementing the emotional elements of the film. Actors like Indrans and Natty Subramaniam do an amazing job as well.

Emotions
While Karuppu does offer many mass elements, it still manages to touch upon emotions and even social injustice. Especially Indran’s portrayal: Binu’s father holds the emotional part very well through his short role. This makes it more profound compared to other films of this genre.
What Could Have Been Improved?
Although Karuppu has enjoyed an almost entirely positive reception from its viewers, the second half seemed to be somewhat too commercial, with too many references. Certain scenes could have been shortened to keep up with the momentum.
Nevertheless, the flaws mentioned above do not have a huge impact on the entire viewing experience.
Verdict
Karuppu becomes a fine entertainment movie that beautifully unites all its elements, including fantasy, action, emotion, and mass entertainment. Thanks to his excellent acting skills, Suriya succeeds in making a captivating character that keeps viewers entertained till the very end. With its exciting action, moving moments, and background score, this movie deserves to be seen in theatres.
