The film’s planned First Day First Show (FDFS) on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at 9 AM was unfortunately cancelled due to “Unavoidable Reasons” at the last minute. Why Karuppu 9 AM Shows Cancelled?
Hours ahead of the grand theatrical debut of Karuppu, producer S. R. Prabhu took to the X (formerly Twitter) handle and confirmed the cancellation of the FDFS. He also expressed regret and apologized to fans for the unfortunate last-minute development. The caption of his post read: “Due to unavoidable reasons 9am shows will be cancelled for Karuppu. Our sincere apologies to everyone!”
The director and co-writer RJ Balaji also shares his concern in this situation. Hours ago, taking his X handle, he wrote: “Dearest fans, I dont have a concrete answer to the current situation. Producers are doing their best to solve the hurdles. This film has always had hurdles, and somehow God has made us sail through all that and here we are after 32 months. This time as well, I have faith, complete faith in him. கருப்பன் எல்லாத் தடையும் அடிச்சு உடைப்பான். #Karuppu நாளைக்கு காலைல செமயா release ஆகும்..!!! நம்பிக்கை வைங்க, நடக்கும்…!!!”

The reputed Always Bollywood X handle reported that the reason behind the 9 AM show’s cancellation was “unresolved financial issues”. The report also added that “The 9 am show was cancelled after intense discussions between makers and stakeholders that went on till late on Wednesday night.”
