The critically acclaimed Prime Video series’ adaptation film, “Mirzapur The Movie,” directed by Gurmmeet Singh, debuts with an outstanding ₹25 crore+ net at the Indian box office. Produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar, the action crime thriller was released today, September 4, 2026, with mostly positive reactions. The evening trend was just phenomenal, as the film reportedly sold over 27K tickets every single hour on the reputed ticket booking platform Book My Show, which clearly indicates the excitement among the fans.

As per the latest box office updates, the action crime thriller reportedly collected an outstanding ₹25.75 crore net on day 1 across 11,135 shows in nationwide theatres. The Hindi version leads with the majority contribution of ₹25.50 crore and has claimed the 4th rank among the top Hindi openers of 2026, replacing Awarapan 2 (₹22 crore). Alongside the Telugu version, which shows an underwhelming performance with an ₹25 lakh collection.

The Pankaj Tripathi starrer ‘Mirzapur The Movie’ had an overall 42.81% occupancy in the Hindi version. The morning shows occupancy was notable at 25.85%, followed by the afternoon, where occupancy witnessed an excellent spike with 41.15%, but the evening shows maintain the consistency with 41.85% occupancy. The Night shows performance was remarkable with a fantastic 62.38% occupancy.

The veteran film critic and business analyst Taran Adarsh applauded “Mirzapur The Movie” for its “sharp writing, killer dialogues, and superb performances”. He also praises this iconic entry from an OTT series to theatrical release, calling it, “IT FEELS LIKE A FILM – larger, louder, and far more cinematic.”
