Storyline of the Ride or Die
The ‘Ride or Die’ story tells about Debbie Claybourne (Octavia Spencer), an ordinary girl, who unexpectedly finds out that her lifelong best friend Judith Burton (Hannah Waddingham) is a professional hitman.
After a failed mission, Debbie becomes reluctantly involved in the worldwide conspiracy full of dangerous mercenaries and dirty officials, and she finds herself having to perform risky jobs all over Europe. Despite the unbelievable plot of the film, it takes the story seriously.
Ride or Die takes a different approach and investigates the possibility of maintaining a decades-long friendship after one of the friends learns that the other has been leading a dual life.

Performances
There is no doubt that the best thing about Ride or Die is the lead cast.
Firstly, Hannah Waddingham gives an excellent performance as Judith. The actress manages to combine her lethal talents with vulnerability flawlessly, which allows her to present Judith not just as an action hero but as a complex character.
Secondly, Octavia Spencer brings emotional depth into the series. Debbie responds to everything that happens to her the same way most people would—she feels confusion, horror, anger, and disbelief.
Their chemistry is fantastic and becomes the main driving force of the whole eight episodes.

Positive Aspects
- One of the most successful things about the series is that it manages to keep balance between action and emotion. There is no need to mention any shooting and explosions because the story is about betrayal and trust.
- Reed ensures the energy through stylistic action scenes, thrilling car pursuits, and stunning locations in Europe.
- Moreover, there is an amusing cast, with Bill Nighy and Ed Skrein, despite the minor parts they have.
- There is no forced humor; the comedy comes from the deep bond between the main characters, who have been friends for so many years.

Negative Aspects
- Even though the acting continues to be consistently good, sometimes, the series loses momentum.
- The eight episodes make the plot about conspiracy last too long. Some twists seem predictable, and the spy plot does not look exciting enough to last this time.
- Also, there are some poorly developed supporting characters who work only as obstacles in the way of the main characters.
