The Terminal List: Dark Wolf takes us back into the backstory of Ben Edwards, who is enjoying his journey from a decorated SEAL team member to a shadowy CIA agent. Someone who is a fan of The Terminal List already knows Edwards’ fate; hence, this prequel aims to fill in the gaps.
At the start, we see Edwards is still embedded within the military, and he is very loyal to his team and code. Alongside Edwards, we see Raife Hastings (Tom Hopper) and Jed Haverford (Robert Wisdom), and they together form a trio who are caught between loyalty, survival, and personal vendettas. However, the spy-thriller tone marks a shift from the original’s heavy military focus; the storyline leans on familiar tropes.

Dark Wolf is a little different from The Terminal List, as it focuses more on surveillance and covert operations. This shift was necessary, as it gives the show a closer connection to Jack Ryan and The Bourne Identity that will offer viewers a deeper look into the CIA’s shadow world.
3. Tom Hopper’s Standout Performance
Tomorrow, Hoopers is the life of this season. Hopper brings quiet intensity, which is much needed for his role. He portrayed the life of a soldier who is fighting against inner demons while navigating CIA betrayals. His performance was one of the best, as it adds depth where Edwards’ character falls short.
What went Wrong with The Terminal List: Dark Wolf?
1. Ben Edwards Lacks Depth
The biggest flaw is its protagonist, and while watching the show, Ben Edwards’ character feels one-dimensional. His personality is pretty much constant, as it remains largely unchanged from start to finish, which might rob viewers of the emotional evolution expected in a prequel.
2. Overused Spy-Thriller Tropes
The execution of the show is excellent. However, at times it feels very predictable. Dark Wolf doesn’t bring enough originality to stand out in the crowded spy-action genre.
Baap of Movies Verdict
All in all, The Terminal List: Dark Wolf review is mixed. Even with this attempt, the show succeeds in expanding the franchise’s universe, but at times it feels that the film fails to surpass the original series.
