Where to watch Tamil movie Maareesan OTT (2025): Last month, on 25 July 2025, Vadivelu and Fahadh Faasil led the highly anticipated Tamil drama thriller “Maareesan“, which debuted on the big screens under the banner of Super Good Films. Less than a month after the theatrical run, from 22nd August 2025 onwards, it started premiering on the OTT giant Netflix worldwide.
This is great news for Fahadh Faasil’s fans, who missed the chance to experience it in theatres and can now stream the venture from their homes. Sudheesh Sankar helmed the film, with the plot penned by V. Krishna Moorthy. Including the lead duo, other star-studded members of the ensemble in the film are Kovai Sarala, Vivek Prasanna, and Sithara.
Maareesan Movie Plot
Maareesan’s movie plot follows a petty thief, Dhayalan (played by the versatile Fahadh Faasil), and Velayudham Pillai (played by the veteran Vadivelu), claiming to suffer from Alzheimer’s. Taking advantage of this old man, Dhayalan plans to extract a handsome amount of money from him, but what happens next will hold you in seat till the end. The movie was acclaimed for its layered storytelling and remarkable performances.
How to watch Tamil movie Maareesan OTT?
On Friday, 19th August, Netflix India South officially took to the X (formerly Twitter) handle, dropped the trailer of the film, and confirmed that it will premiere on 22nd August onwards.
The film is now streaming on the OTT giant in the original Tamil, Telugu and Kannada languages with English subtitles worldwide with a runtime of 2 hours and 30 minutes (150 minutes). The Hindi dubbed version of the film is yet to come. It’s worth adding that it had a 7.9 rating on IMDb based on 1,106 individual remarks and was marked as one of the highest-rated Indian films in 2025 so far.
