Isakapatnam Series Review (2026): Telugu films and OTT mediums have seen more and more success for their gangster films. The makers of “Isakapatnam” hope that this film too can find a place among such gangster ventures, since the series offers a tough and gritty crime drama where only power means survival. With a good cast and the right atmosphere, the Prime Video original series promises a lot but fails to deliver consistently throughout.

Isakapatnam Plot Overview
Isakapatnam is a port city full of crime and politics. Naidu (Samuthirakani), a mysterious character, becomes the boss of this port town by killing his rival Chinna Rao (Rajeev Kanakala). He is supported by some powerful politicians as well as corrupt officials in the region.
But his daughter Bharathi (Aishwarya Rajesh) does not approve of his actions. Meanwhile, Prathap Varma continues his conspiracy against Naidu, which results in various gang fights and betrayals.
Cast Performance
The performances alone make Isakapatnam an easy watch. Samuthirakani does an amazing job of playing a tyrant in the form of Mr. Naidu. He plays his character flawlessly, exhibiting both authority and weakness effortlessly.
Aishwarya Rajesh shines in her multi-dimensional character, where she shows her emotional side along with strength. Naresh Agastya does a convincing job as an individual who tries to build himself in adverse situations.
The other supporting actors Jwala Koti, Sudhakar Komakula, Banerjee, and Raja Chembolu have done commendable jobs too. However, Sunil’s performance falls short since his character is one-sided and shallow.
What Works
The show sets up a dark ambiance that goes well with the crime-laden world. Moreover, the production design creates the 1980s setting quite accurately. Also, the cinematography by Vamsi Patchipulusu captures the overall gloomy tone perfectly.
However, the performances by the lead actors make the movie interesting throughout. Also, the politics and gang rivalry have some interesting points. The pace of the series is good in most parts, keeping it engaging despite the problems it has.
What Doesn’t Work
Even though the movie has an exciting start, Isakapatnam is a poorly written series. The script doesn’t have any good high points, and many emotional scenes don’t have much effect on the viewer.

Most of the side characters are so underdeveloped that we can’t understand their motives. The deaths of main characters happen too abruptly without making them really emotional. Besides, the twist in the ending of the movie becomes predictable since the plot gives enough hints about it beforehand.
The subplot about Aishwarya Rajesh and the story about Naresh Agastya’s family aren’t developed enough.

Final Verdict
On the whole, Isakapatnam is a good series in terms of gangster action, but it lacks an excellent script, which prevents it from being great. If you are someone who is a fan of Telugu crime ventures, then you will definitely appreciate the acting and the dark background, but for those who expect an amazing gangster thriller, it can be a disappointment.
