Karmakhya Movie Review: ‘Karmakhya’ is an exciting Telugu thriller with mystic elements directed by Abhinaya Krishna. With Samaira Sri, Sharanya Pradeep, Abhirami, Samuthirakani, Anand, Vaishnav, and Dhanraj as the main actors, Karmakhya will surely appeal to all thriller fans because of its captivating second half. Although the plot is not so appealing in the beginning, the film definitely turns out to be exciting.

Karmakhya Plot
Karmakhya, centered on a young girl played by Samaira, visits the house of Sarojini (Abhirami), her husband Prabhakar (Anand), and their mentally unstable son Sathvik (Vaishnav) to accomplish some task related to insurance. Unfortunately, she finds herself trapped in this house. The reason why she goes there is that one of her friends, Pravallika, asks her to do so.
Later, a corrupted police officer, Tirupathi (Samuthirakani), takes part in this situation. The whole movie reveals many secrets about why this family decided to keep the girl trapped there and the link between Pravallika and this incident.

What Works
- One of the best aspects of Karmakhya is its unique central theme. There is a certain element of mystery in the movie because it does not reveal everything to viewers upfront but manages to create intrigue in them. There are many thrilling scenes in the second half of the movie.
- It is important to praise director Abhinaya Krishna for creating suspense through the entire second half of the movie. Important details are revealed through the screenplay slowly.
- There is great acting that helps in adding to the success of the movie. Abhirami gives an excellent performance in the dark and mysterious role and makes it one of the most memorable parts of the movie. Sharanya Pradeep plays an entirely new role and surprises viewers in the same, while debutant Samaira gives an impressive performance.
- Samuthirakani proves his versatile skills as he impresses with his performance and brings confidence to his role. Other actors in the cast such as Anand, Vaishnav, Dhanraj, and Madhunandan also add to the story of the movie.
Where the Movie Fails
- Even though Karmakhya is a promising movie, it has some downsides. The first part of the movie lacks pace and can be called dull, while some scenes seem too much like other supernatural thrillers.
- Samuthirakani’s character also could have been developed further, while the drama surrounding Abhirami and Anand also needed more development in order to heighten the effect of the climax.

Technical Aspects
Technically speaking, Karmakhya is good. The background music by Gnani makes the suspense element stronger and adds a sense of eeriness to the entire film. Kushendar Ramesh Reddy’s cinematography complements the dark tone, and Sree Varaprasad’s editing makes the second half quite entertaining and crisp. The production aspects continue to be solid and complement the mysterious tone of the film.
Final Verdict
Karmakhya is a good mystical thriller which stands out for its interesting concept and decent performances, and the second half is full of suspense. Even though the first half does not match the second in terms of entertainment and has predictable elements, there is still enough mystery and surprises left in the film.
If you like supernatural mysteries and suspense thrillers with gradual revelation, you will enjoy Karmakhya.
