Karan Johar announces C SANKARAN NAIR untitled biopic: Karan Johar‘s Dharma Productions officially unveils today (18th October) its next collaboration with Akshay Kumar, Ananya Panday, and R Madhavan for the biopic of India’s top barrister, C. Sankaran Nair, which is adapted from the Raghu Palat and Pushpa Palat’s written book, “The Case That Shook The Empire.” According to the report, the Karan Singh Tyagi directorial untitled courtroom drama is slated to release on 14th March 2025, coincidentally on the occasion of Holi.

On Friday (18th October), Dharma Productions announced the untitled film and captioned it: “एक अनकही कहानी, एक अनसुना सच (An untold story, an unheard truth) Starring Akshay Kumar, R. Madhavan & Ananya Panday – this untitled film is releasing in cinemas on 14th March, 2025. Directed by Karan Singh Tyagi.”
The post also revealed about the content of the film: “The untitled filmon the shocking cover-up of a massacre that pushed India’s top barrister C.Sankaran Nair to fight an unprecedented battle against the British Empire.”

The Hindi courtroom drama film will be helmed by Karan Singh Tyagi, based on Raghu Palat and Pushpa Palat’s written book, “The Case That Shook the Empire,” backed by Karan Johar, Somen Mishra, Apoorva Mehta, & Marijke deSouza, and stars teamed up with the venture are Akshay Kumar, Ananya Panday, and R Madhavan in key roles. It is all set to release on 14th March 2025, under the banners Dharma Productions, Leo Media Collective, and Cape of Good Films.
One of the Pinkvilla sources close to the development said: “C Sankaran Nair Biopic is a film close to the heart of Akshay Kumar and everyone at Dharma, as it’s a story that deserves to be told on celluloid. The core plot of the film features Akshay Kumar taking down the Empire to finally recognize the horrors of the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre being committed by the British in India,” a source close to the development exclusively shared with us earlier
The post-production work is going on in full swing of the film, as the makers are leaving no stone unturned to recreate India and London from the era gone by.”
