Gatta Kusthi 2 Movie Review (2026): Following the success of Gatta Kusthi (2022), people had their high expectations set for the sequel “Gatta Kusthi 2“. In contrast to its predecessor, the second part of the movie makes a refreshing change in its approach to gender roles. It shows a husband in a new, progressive way which helps to add some freshness to the plot of the film. Though the first half is full of emotions and humor, the latter half is not that balanced.

Cast Performance
The strength of the movie is that it delivers good performances. Vishnuu Vishal gives a mature performance and plays the role of a supportive husband who breaks the boundaries of machismo.
Keerthy is played by Aishwarya Lekshmi in her best role, which includes the strength, confidence, and also vulnerability of a woman.
Zara Zyanna gives a natural performance in her role of Mathi, along with Kaali Venkat, Karunaas, and Lizzie Antony playing supporting roles. Ramya Krishnan gives an appearance, but the role does not make much impact.
Positive Points
- The one thing about the film that stands out is the better screenplay than the first film. The screenplay brings forth some discussions on gender norms, careers of women, parenting, etc.
- This movie is humorous throughout most parts of the film. Many comedic scenes succeed, and there is a genuine emotion in the bond between Veera, Keerthy, and their daughter. Also, many jokes set up in the beginning are well paid off in the latter part of the film.
- It also makes Keerthy much more independent in her professional field as a sportswoman, which was a point that needed fixing from the previous film.
Negative Points
- Even with such a great start to the film, Gatta Kusthi 2 fails at the end in the last 30 minutes. It has a climactic ending based on very regressive and old concepts contrary to what had been presented previously.
- The stories of many characters are not complete and even feel incomplete, especially those of the wrestling coach and Mathi’s ambitions. The courtroom scene is also irrelevant.
- The movie is over two and a half hours long, which looks occasionally stretchy.
Final Verdict
In all, Gatta Kusthi 2 is a superior sequel that manages to rectify the mistakes made in the previous installment. Good acting from Vishnuu Vishal and Aishwarya Lekshmi, as well as better comedy and emotional drama, ensure that the movie is an entertaining experience for most of the duration.
Nevertheless, the backward climax and hurried ending prevent Gatta Kusthi 2 from being an engaging movie in the genre. Still, the fans of the previous film will definitely enjoy the improved character development and sincere performances.
If you liked the original Gatta Kusthi, then you will enjoy the sequel because of the laughter, emotions, and family drama involved.
