Why Is Sony Increasing PS5 Prices?
This change is attributed to the continued economic problems around the globe, especially rising prices for parts and inflation. As a result, Sony was compelled to revise pricing policies not only in South East Asian countries but also across various markets worldwide.

Recently, the Japanese giant introduced price increases in countries like the US, UK, Europe, and Japan. The new price in America has been revised to $649.99, up from the initial price of $399 that the console was sold at during its release in 2020.
Trends in the Gaming Industry
Sony’s price changes come after an industry-wide increase in manufacturing prices, mainly due to memory shortage and logistics problems. Other manufacturers like Microsoft and Nintendo have also revised their pricing policies in response to these economic difficulties.
