Under the directorship of Vivek Daschaudary, Toaster tries to transform a common household appliance into the source of chaos, crime, and fun. Although the concept may seem new, the movie has both entertaining and boring parts.

Plot Description of Toaster Movie
Toaster centers on the story of a miser called Ramakant (Rajkummar Rao), who gives away a toaster worth₹5,000 at a marriage ceremony. When the couple divorces within a day after the celebration, Ramakant becomes obsessed with getting back his present.
This light-hearted and amusing plot gradually transforms into an intense and complicated story, where the same toaster is associated with murder, resulting in Ramakant being involved in various bizarre incidents of crime and confusion.
Shilpa, the wife of Ramakant played by Sanya Malhotra, is a huge fan of crime shows and gives the movie an extra comedic twist. With more people being added to the story, it becomes hard to predict what happens next in the plot; however, some parts of the story become unrealistic.
Acting and Direction
Once again, Rajkummar Rao has proved himself as one of the most reliable actors in Bollywood. The comic skills and dedication of the actor have made Ramakant an annoying but entertaining character in the movie.
Sanya Malhotra acts well, making the movie funnier. Supporting actors, such as Archana Puran Singh and Abhishek Banerjee, give the movie a new dimension.
Vivek Daschaudary should be commended for trying out such an offbeat plot. However, the screenplay lacks consistency throughout the entire movie, especially during the last part.

Technical Aspects
Aman Pant does well in creating the background music that suits the movie’s eccentric nature. Jishnu Bhattacharjee succeeds in capturing the gloomy yet humorous mood of the film through cinematography.
However, Chandrashekhar Prajapati’s editing can be improved since certain scenes repeat themselves. In any case, visually speaking, the tone fits the genre of the film.
Positives Aspects
Without doubt, the most positive aspect of Toaster is the performance of Rajkummar Rao. This actor manages to carry the whole movie himself and entertain the viewers even at less exciting moments. Also, the fact that such a unique idea is used, i.e., building the dark comedy around a toaster, is rather unusual for Bollywood.
Moreover, good supporting roles, such as the role played by Archana Puran Singh, contribute positively to the work. Besides, dark jokes and sometimes funny moments in the movie are well-done.
Negatives Aspects
Despite a good idea for the film, its screenwriting is somewhat weak and cannot make the viewer stay interested till the end. Moreover, the second half of the film seems a bit monotonous, and some scenes seem to be exaggerated.
The idea is quite interesting; however, it cannot be used to its full potential in this work.
