Toxic First Twitter Review: One of the major releases of 2026, “Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups“, directed by Geetu Mohandas, finally started roaring in theatres worldwide today, on August 26, coinciding with Raksha Bandhan. Starring Yash, Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria, and Rukmini Vasanth, the gangster action film began receiving reactions on X (formerly Twitter) from netizens immediately after its First Day First Show (FDFS).
The entertainer was backed by Venkat K. Narayana and Yash through KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations LLP. Rajeev Ravi handled the cinematography, edited by Ujwal Kulkarni, the music delivered by Vishal Mishra, Ravi Basrur, Tanishk Bagchi, and others, and the BGM delivered by Ravi Basrur.

#Toxic A Fairy Tale That Turns Into a Complete Nightmare for Everyone!
A technically sound film buried under chaotic writing and exhausting execution. There are barely any proper character introductions, the narrative has no clear flow, and the screenplay gets confusing enough that you’re often left wondering what’s even happening. Dialogue writing is bad, the editing is even worse, and Ravi Basrur’s BGM only makes the experience that much more painful.
Yash’s screen presence and a few scenes along with a better executed climax are the very few positives. This one is hard to sit through. Not even a bad watch, this is a straight up disaster!
#TOXIC First Half: Heavy KGF Hangover! Full of violence and style, but with little substance so far. Yash is in full-on KGF mode as Raya. Lots of bold scenes with women and too many action blocks without any real highs. Yash’s screen presence is superb. Interval block is decent. Over to the second half!
#ToxicReview In the recent past, we’ve seen so many talented filmmakers tell stories around toxic, problematic protagonists…and audiences have happily turned up for them. After watching #Toxic, I genuinely felt the director had a much bigger ambition: Make a film so repulsive that the next time audiences see even a trailer featuring a toxic protagonist, problematic man or anti-hero… they think twice before entering the theatre. If that was the intention, mission accomplished. A colossal mess.
#Toxic – Stylish Yash, Circus Stunt, Rich Visuals r only positives in this 3Hrs lengthy Soulless Violent Action Drama. Improper Character Sketch, Forced adult scenes, Random Seq, Poor Dialogues & No Emotional Connect-Nothing works. Dir Geethu delivers a Mega Boring Film. WORST!

Yes, it looks stylish. Yes, #Yash does well. But beyond that, there is barely anything to hold the film together. The story hardly moves, the pacing becomes painfully tiring, and the movie tests your patience to the extreme. The final twist is decent, but by then, the damage is already done. After a 4 YEAR wait, I expected much more from Yash. Unfortunately, #TOXIC falls far, FAR short. Extremely disappointing.
